Hailing from Buenos Aires, the Blue Tango Project is a ground-breaking exploration of the emotional and musical crossroads where tango and the blues embrace. It is a collaboration between Argentine Latin Grammy nominee María Volonté and California-born harmonica player Kevin Carrel Footer.
Booked at the SXSW Festival in Texas, the San Francisco Jazz Festival and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles; nominated for a Latin Grammy and featured on National Public Radio’s (NPR) Tiny Desk Concert Series, this globe-trotting duo celebrates the deep spiritual bond that joins tango and the blues, as two musical genres born of desire and lost innocence, many times censored yet always resurgent and speaking directly to our hungry souls.
